Stamp of the Week!
The stamp of this week is Panama Scott 11. It is one of the first stamps released by the country, issued in 1887. The design is a map of Panama, and the denomination of the stamp is 10 cents. The stamp is part of a series that features Issues of Colombia for use in the department of Panama, since Panama was a part of Colombia until a revolt in 1903. All of the stamps in the set have a perforation of 12.5 except two variants with a perforation of 13. The main difference between the forgery and the genuine stamp is in the color. The genuine stamp is black and yellow, while the reprint is black and straw. Visit the Forged or Genuine page to see if you can tell the difference, and visit the StampStore to add the stamp to your collection.
